From time to time, it’s a good idea to take some time to reflect. Especially, as Tillitis’ first full operating year is approaching the end, it’s an ideal opportunity to take a seat, enjoy a cup of coffee, and consider everything that has transpired throughout this intensive year. The thing is, despite the fact that it may seem like progress is moving slowly, one is often surprised by how much has been achieved.
As of December 27th, 2023, all product packages sent from Tillitis include a total transfer security label. The reasoning behind this is to enable the recipient of the package to detect if it has been opened or tampered with during shipment. Even if this is not a guarantee, it at least makes it harder to hide the fact that it has been opened. The label is blue with the Tillitis logo and Ant printed on it. When the security label is opened, it will leave the text “OPEN VOID” on the product package, indicating it has been opened. Also, once opened, there is no glue on the sticker, i.e. it’s not easy to re-seal.
From December 7th, all TKeys will be shipped with our upgraded device housing, an injection-molded plastic case crafted from PA12-Grilamid TR 90. This transition brings about several practical advantages, primarily in terms of durability and aesthetics.
A nice December tradition is here; Advent of Code. Tillitis sponsors Advent of Code 2023. We love programming and innovation. With sponsoring Advent of Code we want to encourage programmers to explore programming and solving puzzles.
Today we are publishing another officially supported application, TKey Signature tool (tkey-sign). TKey Signature tool is a command line tool (tkey-sign) for signing and verifying files using a cryptographic signature done on the Tillitis TKey. It uses the TKey device signer (the same device app tkey-ssh-agent uses) for the cryptographic signatures.
Introduction The TKey Secure Random Number Generator app allows a user and a client system to get high-quality random numbers from a source separate from the client. A unique feature of the app is that it can also sign the random data delivered, thus allowing the user to verify the integrity of the generator, the integrity of the data, and the origin of the data delivered. But a secure random number generator must also deliver high-quality random numbers. In this blog post, we will look at how the generator works and the measured quality. In a coming blog post will discuss the signing and verifying in more detail.
At Tillitis, we don’t just develop a security key; we are creating an open source security key with the collaboration and feedback of the open source community, for the open source community. Thus, it’s great to announce that we sponsor and attend this year’s Open Source Firmware Conference, OSFC, in Sunnyvale, California.
Today we’re announcing two new products - TKey Unlocked - TKey Programmer What are they? Tkey Unlocked is a non-provisioned TKey for advanced users that want to provision their TKeys themselves, experiment with new hardware designs, or change the bootloader firmware.
The Homebrew package for tkey-ssh-agent has been updated to include: man page, i.e., man tkey-ssh-agent default to promt for the USS (User Supplied Secret) input
